Helpful Guide to Shipping Your Freight

Prepare & Package your shipment correctly
Making sure your shipment is properly packaged will prevent your shipment from getting damaged during the time your shipment is in transit.

Packaging Ideas:

Crates— The best and most recommended option for shipping your freight. Plywood crates protect the best and can be purchased in multiple sizes.

Pallets or skids—Usually you can get pallets from local stores that do not reuse their pallets and throw them away i.e. Hardware stores, Grocery stores, Office Supply stores, etc.

Boxes or Corrgated Cardboard—New Boxes would be the best option if using boxes. If you are trying to save money, often times you can find used cardboard in Cardboard Only Recycle Bins behind many stores and shopping plazas. If you ask, often times many stores will provide their boxes for free.

Plastic Wrap—Stretch Wrap is useful for that extra security!

Signed Shipping Documents
The signed shipping document is the legal contract between you and FreightNShipping. Once we receive the signed legal document, your shipment is set up through the carrier and the bill of lading is prepared.

Bill of Lading
The bill of lading is a legal contract between the shipper (you) and the carrier (That you choose for your shipment). The bill of lading states exactly what is being shipped via freight, from where it's coming and where it's going.

The bill of lading is a receipt for goods, a contract of carriage and a document of title. Please make sure to give your freight agent all the information to complete your BOL correctly. It is important to verify the information stated on the Bill of Lading is accurate and true.

We will supply your completed Bill of Lading via email or fax.

Labeling and Addressing Your Shipment
Label each piece of your freight shipment with the BOL we provide you. This ensures that your package goes to the correct location and that it has already been prepaid. BOL/ Label placement needs to be visable on each shipment package.

Arrange a Pickup
Call your Personal Freight Agent at FreightNShipping to request shipment pickup or request your pickup date on the 3rd page of our shipping invoice documents. When your freight carrier's driver arrives to pick up the shipment, give him or her the bill of lading.

Tracking your Shipment
After pickup, use our system to get up-to-minute details of your shipment until final delivery. Your entire shipment moves through our system with only one tracking number to follow—your BOL number.
